Position Overview:
Axis Architecture seeks a Bookkeeper/Administrator to join our team, supporting the smooth functioning of our friendly architecture company in Wickham. This role encompasses a diverse array of responsibilities across payroll processing, financial management, administrative support, and invoicing/client relations.
The successful candidate will report to and be assisted by the Company Directors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process payroll efficiently, ensuring accurate and timely payments to employees and adherence to relevant regulatory requirements, including HMRC submissions via Xero payroll system.
- Prepare quarterly VAT returns and weekly bank reconciliation.
- Issue invoicing and manage client payments and chase payments and credit control.
- Purchase ledger control.
- Monitor and report weekly cash flow to Directors.
- Provide necessary administrative support as required.
- Support Directors in renewing Professional Indemnity Insurance by filling out the necessary forms and help analysing the policies and fees.
- Occasional administrative support with office supplies.
Position Details:
Part-time role comprising 6 to 8 hours weekly, with flexible scheduling options, including potential accommodation for school hours.
Person Specification:
Demonstrated understanding of office dynamics and working in a small company; a proactive, self-starting approach to task management.
Proficiency in Xero accounting software is preferred, alongside strong familiarity with Microsoft Office suite and database management.
Must exhibit exceptional organizational skills and a penchant for problem-solving and task completion.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate embodies a professional, solution-oriented demeanour, serving as the primary contact for all accounts-related inquiries.
Exceptional customer service skills are preferred, given the interaction with clients and suppliers spanning credit control, payments, and VAT submissions.
Thorough familiarity with Xero, coupled with a proactive attitude toward learning and adapting to diverse business requirements, is essential.

Pay: £17.00-£19.00 per hour
