In this case, all the Dormer tiles were removed individually by hand so they could be re-used on the new rear extension roof. Due to the proposed shallow pitch we specified an Ondutile roofing underlay which provides a secondary weatherproof roof enabling a tiled roof to be used safely below the recommended minimum pitch.
The application initially failed at planning due to questions of traffic congestion. A traffic survey demonstrated that the new development would not cause unacceptable traffic congestion, an argument that the Planning Inspector accepted. The new development should be a sympathetic addition to the street scene of this small Hampshire hamlet.
