Our Hampshire architectural practice was founded almost three decades ago. Since then, we have worked on some significant listed building architectural projects.
One of our founding partners was the parish architect for Farlington Parish and the Church Architect for All Saint’s Church in Portsea. Over the years, our current team, under his guidance, has garnered a wealth of knowledge and experience in this specialist sector.
Listed Building Architectural Projects
Specialist architectural services are vital for listed building projects. The buildings involved are unique and significant structures that require careful preservation and management. Therefore, only an architect with particular expertise in this field can ensure that future generations continue to enjoy these buildings.
Listed buildings may require specialist architectural services for several reasons. For example, the structure may need the completion of restoration or repair work while preserving its historical or architectural features. An architect must also design any alterations or additions to the building with sympathy for its original style and character.
We are fully familiar with the specialist requirements of any listed building architectural project. This knowledge means we can guide you through, what may otherwise, be a daunting process. Planning Permission, Listed Building Consent, and Building Regulation approval can prove problematic without expert help.
Finally, our use of 3D modelling software enables us to help clients visualise the proposed works and to assist in the construction phase of projects. For example, we modelled urgent renovation works to a church spire in 3D on the computer to show which pieces of timber needed replacing.
