Sport Pavilion, Shedfield
In 2019 Axis were commissioned by Shedfield Parish to alter and extend the Shedfield Sports Pavilion and Parish Council Office to provide an Eco-friendly building with improved changing facilities for the field sports, a community function room with catering support and update the Parish Council Office. The existing pavilion had several issues, such as insufficient facilities, non-compliance with the sport of England and Football Association requirements, offices not practical and too small and other issues.
Existing vs Proposed Plan
The sports improvements were supported by the Football Association and Sports England. The proposal included three extensions doubling the size of the current footprint, creating a fully functional layout with multiple purposes. The sustainable design included sun panels, UFH, ASHP and lots of elements to reduce the building Carbon Footprint, setting an outstanding example within the local community.
The project progressed and completed in February 2023. Axis delivered a first class, safe, inclusive, well-maintained and well-presented layout to be used for social, recreational, educational and leisure activities, meeting the needs and desires of the Parish.
Current Use of the Building
The project was also set to achieve the aim of attracting further use of the facilities for people of the community and it achieved this goal: the new community hall started taking bookings a month before completion and it is now up and running for the full use of the local community and surrounding areas.
